The property consists of approximately one thousand acres, mostly comprising hilly terrain and rocky gullies, with a
well grassed area for camping grounds beside a flowing creek. This beautiful camping ground is just a short drive to the
Main Range National Park, Goomburra Section with exciting
views from the lookouts.
Open since April 2004, Janowen Hills has established approximately eighty 4WD tracks. Tracks are rated from easy, medium, difficult and extreme. Please note, that we have a buddy system in operation at the park, which means that you may only enter if accompanied by at least one other vehicle, (this is for 4 Wheel Driving purposes only).
The
camp grounds are also accessible to 2WD vehicles, and caravans are also welcome.
There are no motor bikes permitted on the 4wd tracks, this includes all types of motor bikes (ie. dirt bike, quad atv dirt bike).
Fees as per website (bit complicated) but at time of research (April 2019) summarised as follows:
4WD Access Fee (in addition to camping fees only if using the 4WD tracks) $25 per vehicle per day, or $30 for up to 8 days.
Camping Fees - Adults $15/pp/pn, Children (5-15) $7 p/night. Powered sites $7 per site per night.
Family Special - families paying for camping and 4WDing pay up to a max of 2 children. Any additional children free.
