Copperfield Gorge is in the
Einasleigh River immediately across the road from the
Einasleigh Hotel. This area is the southeast boundary of the Undara lava fields and here the river has cut through a lava fissure giving visitors a different aspect of the lava flow from that of the lava tubes further east at Undara.
Einasleigh is a small town on the banks of the river. Once a copper mining town, today it consists of a pub and a
post office as well as a stopping point for the Savannahlander.
Einasleigh is probably one of a very few towns that can boast that a train stops outside their pub on request.
