Located near this place are some old mining sites which you may see in the background of the Mt Doreen photos. The
old mine sites in this area are unprotected so if you decide to go scrambling up there - please be careful and look out for shafts!
During cold and very clear nights, the sky can look absolutely amazing with very brightly lit stars. It seems that every star, constellation and planets were more than visible to the eye in this area.
