Burrum Point
camping area is in
Burrum Coast National Park, 46km north of
Maryborough or 57km south of
Bundaberg in the Wide Bay area. The park is spread over four sections—Kinkuna, Woodgate,
Burrum River and
Buxton sections.The Burrum Point
camping area is in the Woodgate section, which is accessible only by 4WD. All-wheel-drive vehicles, and vehicles towing low-clearance trailers, boats or caravans are not recommended. The
camping area is behind fragile foredunes, just a short walk to the water and beach. Boating, canoeing and fishing are popular activities on the
Burrum River.No generators no fires. Patchy phone service depending on carrier. Sandy campsites. Water, cold showers and
toilets. The
camping area can be reached from
Childers or
Bundaberg by high clearance 4WDs and trailers only. Caravans and buses are not recommended. It is advisable to
check road conditions before entering. Wet weather access may be restricted due to local flooding.
