Information

Burke and Wills camped here on 4/1/1861. There was some (little) water available and a large area of green grass so the camels and horse could eat. Wills could see a line of timber about 5 miles ahead and Gray went went out to investigate. What he found was King Creek with abundant water, Pelicans and crayfish (yabbies). By the time he came back it was too late to move on but the decision was made to get up early and move camp next morning
