Mount Cooroora Summit Trail - QLD

Mount Cooroora Summit Walk Trailhead is the starting point for one of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland’s most recognised hikes. Located in the small town of Pomona, this steep but rewarding trail climbs to the summit of Mount Cooroora, offering panoramic views across the hinterland, forests and distant coastline.The return walk is approximately 3.6km and involves a steady uphill climb with rocky sections, exposed areas and some steep gradients near the summit. A reasonable level of fitness is recommended, particularly in warm or humid conditions.The summit is well known as the finish point of the annual King of the Mountain race and rewards walkers with sweeping 360-degree views over the Noosa Hinterland and surrounding ranges.Facilities at the trailhead include parking, picnic areas, public toilets and information signage. Carry water, wear suitable footwear and avoid climbing during extreme heat or wet weather as sections can become slippery.
