Bunyip Chasm is a remote out-and-back hike in
Vulkathunha-Gammon Ranges National Park offering striking
red rock gorge scenery and a true wilderness experience. The walk is approximately 8–10 km return from the
trailhead and typically takes 4–6 hours depending on pace and how far into the chasm you explore. Expect predominantly
creek-bed walking with uneven rocky surfaces, sections of off-track navigation, and some light scrambling over boulders. The route is sparsely marked and requires good navigation skills, so carrying your phone with the Traveller app so you have offline map tracking your walk.This is a moderate to challenging walk suited to experienced hikers comfortable in remote conditions. There are no facilities, shade is limited, and temperatures can be extreme, so carry ample
water, wear sturdy footwear, and be fully self-sufficient.This is a remote
