Walkers can start at the Mountain Creek camping area or from the junction here off the Mountain Creek 4WD track. This hike follows a steep 16-kilometre route known as Staircase Spur. You’ll pass through beautiful peppermint and snow gums, and pass the charming Bivouac Hut before reaching the top of Mt Bogong and some awesome views of the Alpine National Park from the summit at 1986m. Mt Bogong is the highest peak in Victoria.Full hike 21.5 kilometres from Mountain Creek picnic area. Grade 4.
