The B10 Cairn was put here, on a
granite outcrop, by Richard Brazier in 1893.The dams where built in 1932 - One of the Woodlines workers inscribed his name and the date into some mortar.There is a 3km 4WD Track enabling access from the main 4WD Woodline Track. Brazier was conducting a survey from
Coolgardie to
Esperance, along with Aubrey
Newman. He named this point B10, and inscribed a post as such, and built a cairn around it. Most of the post now is still within the cairn, however the top of the post has fallen, breaking on the ground - and only fragments now remain. All of the cairn remains intact.The Woodlines was a timber cutting era, when timber was cut and transferred by light rail back to Kalgoorlie. The small Woodline Dams are for workers, stock and general use. The Steam trains on the Woodline used the much larger and higher dams - as at
Burra Rock and
Cave Hill.
