THE
DINGO BARRIER FENCE
In 1954, by Act of Parliament, a single Barrier Fence was established running from
Chinchilla, enclosing most of the main wool-growing areas in Queensland, linking up with the New South Wales Border Fence and on into South Australia ending at the cliffs of the
Great Australian Bight.
Falling into disrepair in the 1970s, the Government funded a repair project which was completed in 1988.
