Revealing food sources
There are many art sites throughout
Keep River National Park and most of the paintings in them are of animals or spiritual beings.
The paintings in this rock shelter reveal the value of emus as a food source.
To hunt them Miriwoong men covered themselves in mud and hid behind tall shields topped with leaves. With the mud masking their scent and their shields hiding them from head to toe, the men sneaked up on the emus and speared them.
