This
rock is not connected to the mainland but older topographic databases show the name as Pelican Spit and indicate it was at some point connected. Now
the rock is completely surround by water and appears white. No vegetation appears to grow on the tiny island and cardinal markers warn boat drivers to avoid the area due to shallow waters. Fisherman use this
rock as a landmark feature for navigation.
