Oombulgurri Aboriginal Reserve - WA

Oombulgurri is an abandoned/closed remote aboriginal community. Access to the area is via escorted tour only. The entrance track commences at Homevale station on the Gibb River rd, via a locked gate. The track is 4wd only and rated as "extreme". The track runs across the Durack River(Ballengarra land) to Oombulgurri and then to Carson River Station near Kalumburu via the Berkeley and Drysdale rivers. Average progress is about 12 KMPH. Most of the track is washed away and navigation skills should be of a high standard. The entire trip is through aboriginal land and permits are a must.
