At over a century in age the reservoir holds
water for only six years in ten. Completed in 1915 it once supplied
Silverton and
Broken Hill. Now, a derelict weather station above the right abutment has its anemometer spinning forlornly and the evaporation pan is dry and rusting. The concrete dam remains solid and watertight.
