Waggaboonya Lake - QLD

Greenstone Creek Dam is the concrete arch dam built in 1969 which forms this lake, with a spillway level of 213.5. Lake Waggaboonya supplies water to the Mt Gordon Copper Mine and the fly in fly out village south of the lake which houses the mine personnel near the original Gunpowder township. The lake has a capacity of 5770 megalitres of water and is no longer used for watersports as it was when the Gunpowder Resort was open in the 1970's.
