Also known as “
Running Waters”, Eel pool is a deep
long pool situated in the
Pilbara East of
Nullagine and some kilometres off the Skull Springs Road.
The pool is in fact one of the many channels that make up the
Oakover river. The pristine waters are shaded by ancient paperbark trees. While
the pool is accessible by vehicle, it it not suitable for towing caravans. There is a cleared area suitable for caravans about 500 metres before
the pool where the river valley begins.
The area is a favourite
recreation spot for workers from the nearby Woodie Woodie mine and as a result the access track is in fair condition.
If you visit, please post photos of current conditions.
