Information

Temple Gorge Campground is a basic bush camping area on the east side of the Kennedy Range with picnic benches two long drop toilets. There is also a communal campfire surrounded by benches - this is the only place where campfires are permitted. Be aware there is no water at this campground. The dozen or so un-numbered campsites are of varying dimensions and can accommodate both tent and vehicle based campers. Although rustic in style, the campsites are ample in size and reasonably level with a firm sandy base. They are suitable for people with disabilities, including visitors with mobility restrictions. The campground is connected by walk trails (as well as by road) to the various hikes and attractions along the range. The Temple Gorge Trail and the Escarpment Trail both start and finish at or near the campground. The Escarpment Base Trail also passes by, and can be followed to Draper's Gorge, Honeycomb Gorge or Sunrise View for a longer walk. The trail leads into a narrow gorge that ascends to the top of the range for spectacular views. This trail is steep with loose rocks and traverses near exposed cliff edges. No pets allowed. Entry free to Kennedy Range National Park.Camping fees apply ($15/adult, $10 concession, $5 child). Temple Gorge Campground is non-bookable but only until April 2026 when stays must be booked.Campsite bookings for Temple Gorge Campground will be managed through the Department's online ParkStay WA booking system from April 2026. Bookings between now and April will still be on a first in first served basis with camp fees payable to rangers onsite or by utilising the honesty box.WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ?
