This is a popular
campsite along the
Gibb River Road with a river front
camping area, that is safe from salt water crocs and offers a sandy beach. The main attraction is the big swimming hole at
Upper Manning Gorge that requires crossing over the water and then a walk.
Fees Payable at Mt Barnett Roadhouse. Entry fees apply for day use, and a sliding scale of nightly fees that reduces the longer you stay.
Facilities have changed dramatically here over the years due to increased tourism pressure. The
camp now includes showers,
toilets, BBQs, fire pits, public phone,
bins, and a washing machine/laundry. Rope swing. Campfire permitted but BYO firewood. No drinking water at
camp - available from roadhouse. Powered facilities run off a generator that is off overnight.
A small dingy operates as a "ferry" to assist tourists cross the river if they don't wish to swim.
Large rigs and dogs acceptable. Generators 7am - 7pm only.
