Aromatic Lamb Balls with Mint and Yogurt Dressing.

  • 500gm Lamb Mince
  • ¼ cup chopped Spring Onions
  • ½ teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon Ground Cumin
  • ½ teaspoon All Spice
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Fresh Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 cups Plain Yogurt
  • ¼ cup Fresh Chopped Mint Leaves


  • Step 1Combine the Mince, Spring Onions, Egg, Breadcrumbs and all the herbs and spices.
  • Step 2Make into small balls using wet hands. Roll in flour and leave in fridge for one hour.
  • Step 3I cooked these in the camp oven for about ½ an hour on a trivet.

  • Step 5To make up dressing.
  • Step 6Place the Yogurt in a very fine sieve or cloth over a bowl to drain the water out of Yogurt. This will take about 3 hours.
  • Step 7Mix Mint with Yogurt and Salt to taste.
