This recipe is a twist on your typical fresh salsa for when you've been on the road a while and fresh produce is limited. Salsa is ideal to add interest and flavour to any steak, chops or just as a side dish.


  • 1 sml tin corn kernels
  • 1 sml tin chopped capsicum
  • 1 sml tin chick peas
  • 1/2 sml tin crushed pineapple
  • Dash lime juice (fresh or bottled)
  • Sugar to taste (1-2 tspns)
  • Optional: diced fresh vegies if available such as avocado, cherry tomatoes, red onion.


  • Step 11. Drain liquid from tin ingredients
  • Step 22. Finely dice any fresh ingredients
  • Step 33. Combine all prepared ingredients in a bowl and mix gently to combine sugar and juice. Adjust to taste.
  • Step 4Can be stored in an airtight container in fridge for a couple of days.
