The Family and I are heading down to do a Snowy Mountain Horse Trek with Cochrane Horse Treks in the New Year. Having been on a couple of treks arranged by Mates4Mates with Peter and his team, he has stated he wants my family to come down to also participate in a ride. My 2 kids are learner riders so the pace will be set around the inexperienced/learner level.
I did a Trek last week with 10 novice/learner Veterans and by day 5 they were doing a 25km length daily trek.
If you wish to join us please register on here as well as on the Cochran Horse Treks website for the ride. Cochran Horse Treks
The ride is fully catered for and the camp site is accessible by vehicle and medium sized off road vans (some tight switchbacks and potholes, although Peter can get a small truck with 3 horse float along the track with care). The camp site, if Peter uses Old Snowy Camp, has a large area for camping with 2 long drop toilets. Peter does provide tents and swags for those who wish to utilise his resources. The Trek is also BYO Alcohol and no drunks will be permitted to ride.
So for those looking for a Trip that will get you into some of the rarely seen parts of the Snowy Mountains, come along and get yet another item ticked off your bucket list, before the NSW Government starts the Brumby Cull.
