Cradle Valley - TAS

Cradle Valley is the accommodation centre and tourist hub for visitors to Cradle Mountain National Park and lies just outside the national park. There is one caravan park (Discovery Parks Cradle Valley) and a number of upmarket lodges here. You'll also find a day spa centre, helicopter tour operator, and a couple of pubs, a ranger station/national park interpretive centre and the main visitor centre and central car park.Vehicle access south of the Cradle Valley into the national park itself is only permitted outside of shuttle bus operating hours. This can be handy if you wish to take astro photography over Dove Lake at night or if you are collecting walkers after the last shuttle bus has left the park. Overnight hikers are requested to park in the main visitor centre carpark and use the shuttle to the trail heads at Ronnie Creek or Dove Lake. All visitors arriving at Cradle Valley should park at the visitor centre, validate their parks pass and organise a shuttle bus ticket to access the parkPrivate vehicle access is not permitted during shuttle bus operating times with only limited access & parking outside of shuttle operating hours for small passenger vehicles. At no time are campervans, motorhomes, caravans, trailers or similar vehicles permitted to travel into the National Park. A large carpark caters at the Visitor Centre in Cradle Valley (directly opposite the entrance to the Discovery Parks Caravan Park). This carpark features a dump point and a 24 hour self-service fuel bowser. There is strictly no overnight camping permitted in the carpark. If you do not have an accommodation booking in Cradle Valley then you must leave the area and find alternative accommodation.Shuttle buses leave from the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre and operates seven days a week (in peak season every 15 minutes from 8am - 6pm). A valid Parks Pass is required along with a ticket for the shuttle bus which can be organised at the Visitor Centre.?
