Hi all, anyone know of anyone offering GPS training courses in the Sydney area? Baisc to intermediate type level? Using GPS in conjunction with maps, that type of thing? Thanks Peter

Brian, at GPSOZ (Mona Vale) used to do training - not sure if he still does. If he doesn't I'm sure he'll know who does.

Thanks Steve. It's my frustration with Brian at GPZOz that has lead me to make this post. I have committed to 3 of Brian's advertised courses over the last 18 months and he keeps cancelling them a couple of days before there due to take place. Very very frustrating. As such Brian is not my favourite person at present. But thanks anyway.

Try contacting a bloke called Lindsay at Southern Cross 4WD club.
He'll point you in the right direction.

I should clarify that I signed up for a one day basic 4wd course at Lithgow which has a module on navigation. They said that they don't get that much demand for stand alone navigation courses but will see if they can arrange something. Cheers Pete

An alternative to a gps training course would be what i did . I bought a Garmin dezl 760LMT which i use in RV mode , it has a nice big 7x5 inch screen . Buy a Garmin TOPO Australia NZ MicroSD V4 which just clicks into the side of the gps . Just click on map and move the map around to where you want to go and press go . Now i have turn x turn directions for the whole of australia .
