I'm looking for a new set of hoops for the
Ranger 265/70/16 - Anyone had any experience with the above tyres?

Not the A/T's Peter but certainly the MT's and if they are a brilliant tyre in my opiniion. I'm about to re-shoe with 315/75-R16.
I've done a write-up on them here

Out our way [ geographical centre of Qld] every 2nd 4x4 would be shod with Toyo's , value for $$ says it all ,, seem to last longer than duellers on our tracks that pass for roads ,,

I fitted Toyo OPAT's to my 200 series (285 60 R18) I have been VERY happy with the grip & wear & would have to say they are quieter than the BFG A/T's I have used for long time. The BFG's were not available in the size required for the 200 so it was with some hesitation I went to Toyo..... very happy with my decision :-)

I have a set of 245/70/16 and they are a good tyre , but have got noisy at about 50 worn. Will be going back to bridgestone 697 LT for the next set, although the OP seem to wear better.
I know no one else considers then noisy so I find this strange.

Thanks Pete. After all my research I'm going with the D697 LT's as
well. While the Toyos seem good rugged tyres the 697's get good
feedback via this
forum and are $20 cheaper per tyre here in
Sydney.
Cheers Pete ...and thanks to all those who responded to my query.
