Hi travellers, in brief: just completed this big drive, took about 6 days ea way, via Kalgoorlie,Nullarbor,Pt Pirie,
Burra,
Renmark,
Mildura,
hay,
Bathurst. Ret via similar except via
Adelaide for some repairs. (kept to short routes) Did regular leg stretches,lunch stops and stopped each eve about 6pm, on road by 8am.
basics: Diesel fuel up to $1.98 in sticks, average c/van site with power $30 a nite, needed it for a/con -it was 38-40 deg for most of trip!
MH nice, went ok, had one episode of engine lite, was 02 sensor-
Adelaide Fiat mechanics said drivable, can fix on ret-(warranty) was a very good local dealership in
Richmond,
Adelaide.
mainly big rigs on road. cost about $1000 fuel and about $700 was general spending(inc accom) one way, was similar on ret.
If anyone wants more detail will provide. have kept all documentation.
Noted some areas
well provided for in terms of rest stops etc, others nothing for
miles.

food: worthy reminder- buy minimum fruits or veges in eastern states as you only quickly eat up or hand them over at the various quarantine -customs /border points.
same for us gamblers/lottery players- each state seems separate from others with tatts, the lotto and scratchies. lots of pokies in clubs,pubs.
