We are planning a trip from
Brisbane to Mt Isa in june. Anyone got
places of interest and best
places to stay. We are travelling in our 4WD and caravan.

The wellshot hotel at Ilfacombe, neat small caravan park next door, would be best to book ahead.

Eulo if you get across that way - go to the mud baths. Otherwise
Carnarvon Gorge if you stay east.
Ilfracombe is a much better option than
Longreach if you want to stay in the area - only a short drive into town and a great little spot. Evening Star just out of
Charleville.
Cheers

The super pies in
Alpha.
The funny little drive-in in
Jericho. (
Check out the unisex toitlets for a bit of a giggle...nothin' like passin' the blokes at the urinal to get into a cubicle, ladies!! thank goodness I only visited in "off peak" times)
The Qantas Museum and Stockmans Hall of Fame in
Longreach.
Lark Quarry.
The Cosmos Centre and Bilbies in
Charleville.
Suppose it depends which road you're taking...but who cares which road, as long as we get there, eh? (The joys of holidays!!)
Possum Park north of
Miles is a bit close to stop for the night, I suppose...
:)
