I have heard that you have to book minimum 2 weeks at
broome for caravan accommodation during winter. Can anyone help with dates when the mexicans start to leave or before they get there.

Gday Denisl,,,The time period May through til September in
Broome is booked solid. A lot of WA retirees have permenant bookings for the full period and the whole plase is packed. Some parks keep a few spots for overnighters with a max three night stay, its the best time of the year there for the weather but too crowed.I have even heard of the
Police going out to the highway and warning people that there is no accomadation in town. September October is not to bad weatherwise and the place starts to thin out as the retirees head south, its a nice spot there and
well worth a trip.

Denisl,
We were there in July/August '03 and all the bastards wouldn't take bookings.
We attended the
Cable Beach caravan park and the bloke said that he we would have to
cue up first thing in the morning and wait for people to
check out - one out, one in basis.
We were lucky, we got there at 06:50 am
well before checkout times and were in the park by 08:00. When we took off for a look there were about 10 caravans and vehicles lined up.
We personally thought
Broome was
well & truly overated so a week was enough for us. Too many people. Too many naked weirdos on the beach.
Cape Leveque &
Kununurra were the ducks nuts though.
We're relatively
young so it may be different for the more slow moving retirees.
Good luck.Nice southerly coastal fishing trip someday.
Chris

Hi Denis
Was in
Broome last June, and although it was crowded the C. Park on
Roebuck Bay made us most welcome. The only site they had was were the BBQ was setr up, but we were happy to have
the spot and had a great time
Raywanderin' in retirement. victor 2010

We hit
Broome 23rd April 2003 and stayed at
Cable beach CP for 3 days, whilst we did book we were able to pick our own site - the park was say half full . Came back (on the way
home to
perth) end of May and the place was packed , could not believe a few weeks would make such a difference. We did book our return stay so what ever you do I strongly recommend you book.
If you stay at
Cable Beach ask for the old section - more grass and shade.
Regards
Alan
