So I removed a outback roof console from an identical 100 series standard as mine and when I removed my interior light there was a different set up to the car I took it from..
The original car had a single bolt inside the drop down storage compartment but mine has no nut to screw into just a hole with barely any clearance between the hole and actual roof steel. My thoughts are to measure the four screw holes that used to hold the interior light and drill four holes in the console and use these to secure it to the roof?? Has anyone fitted one from new? How is this meant to be secured? Am I missing a mounting plate or something? Also can the lid to the drop down storage compartment be removed to make doing up the screws easier as I don't want to break it! Cheers

I recently had a console fitted by "Dept of the Interior" and they used the light fitting to fix the console to.

I think the Outback Roof Consoles are distributed by ARB.
Perhaps a call to one of their outlets would be the best move.

I'm sure they could tell you if a bracket is required to fit to your vehicle and even supply the bracket if required.
