Still have one thread (Visiting Australia in October) open and I am truly grateful for the replies received so far .. MANY THANKS. More suggestions will be truly welcomed and added to our notes.
But during our travels Adelaide to Sydney are there any home beekeepers who as its then early spring will open a hive to compare Oz colonies with UK stock, possibly buy a jar or two of honey also. Wont have a veil but many beekeepers will have a spare.
Guess it might be difficult to make contact via this forum though.

Yep we had a real bad 2 seasons Firstly the big wet summer last year followed by drought conditions this year. Most lost a large percentage of hives and started feeding sugar water very early to keep some hives alive. Hope the above info will help
