We have 3 days to travel to Lawn Hill from Winton in July. Which is the suggested route? Were wondering if we had enough time to drive via Porcupine Gorge? Will just have the troopy and us!

RnR,

If you have 3 days for travel, then it's doable.

Winton to Porcupine, overnight, then next night at Burke n Wills roadhouse(or Gregory), then easy 3rd day into Lawn Hill.

Parts of the Flinders H'way are pretty ordinary, and think they have restricted speed limits on these spots.

If you give the gorge a miss, then straight up the Landsborough H'way to Cloncurry, take the Normanton road, to Burke n Wills, then hang a left. All well sign posted.

Bob.

Seen it all, Done it all.
Can't remember most of it.

Well think that sums it up J&R!
Porcupine Gorge may wait for another time.
