I want to replace the old light fitting in my van with a led fitting, has to be appox 400mm long and no higher than 15mm. Have searched the internet without success. Any info would be great.

Hi try Bunnings, they have a new range of under cabinet LED lighting, both 240V or 12V with transformer which you could bypass if you want 12V only.

Cheers

Might be easier and cheaper especially if it is an older van to just fit LED globes or panels to the existing fitting.
I've done it successfully on a few now after others have seen mine and been told about the resulting power consumption drop.
I've bought these type with great success. If your fittings use a different globe to the ones supplied just break the existing globe out of the metal socket and solder the wires straight into it or bypass the socket and connect direct to van wiring.
I've been buying them in lots of ten or more as everyone wants them.

I have a 2006 Coromal Capri XC, I have fitted led bulbs to most of the light fittings. The problem is that the roof mounted fluro in the back of the van has melted the plastic fitting was very lucky we didn't lose the van. I am in Roma central Queensland but can buy most things over the internet so not to concerned where to go, just need a lead to a supplier.

carlj,
I just replaced the fluros in my coromal van with led's form ABR Sidewinder.

If you scroll down the link you will see them. 12 inch 36 LED Roof Lamp with switch.

ABR LINK

To use the old mounting points I cut up a $10 nylon breadboard to the same shape as the new lights and then fitted that behind the lights You can just drill and tap the board to secure the new light.

They are pretty low profile being on 33mm high and the light is far better than a fluro.
