hi, have a 70 series 1994 troopy with the silly extra fuel gauge on the dash.
Would like to get a mount for my iPad before I go on a trip around OZ.
Any ideas welcome - hopefully someone with a troopy has got a mount and can tell me what to do.
regards, Mark

Hi Mark
I bought one of these for my iPad...quite robust as they bolt onto the floor. Just remove one
seat bolt, attach the bracket - then re-attach the bolt.

Hi Chris, did you attach to the drivers
seat or the passenger
seat? What happened with the gear lever - does it get in the way? Do you have any photos of what it looks like with the iPad installed?

Hi Mark
The thing is flexible and on a ball joint so you can push it away from the gear lever. We've not had any problems - but then again I don't have a manual Troopy - just a Landcruiser, and it's auto....so it's never really been an issue. The passenger can also move it around a little so they can navigate.
Here's a photo of what it looks like in my car:

Ignore the little black box on top of the iPad (with the white buttons) this is how I mounted the ScanGauge - which is another thing altogether. Perhaps the best bet is to ask if you can buy one on the basis that it can be returned if it doesn't fit. They are in
Sydney, as at least your not dealing with somone overseas.

Hi Chris, it looks great and fits nicely in the car. I think I will have to try it and see how it goes in a troopy - no creature comforts and huge gear levers.
Will let everyone know how I go.

Hi Stu,
I'm following up with RAM tomorrow as I have seen a photo of a RAM mount connected to the rear view mirror and the iPad sitting up above this. Could be a good solution that does not cover the road at all.
thanks for your comments.

Mark,
I bought one if these from eBay and it stood up to 7000km of varied road conditions recently. Your extra fuel gauge might not allow you to mount it in the same position. Sorry, don't seem to be able to post a photo of it in place but it sits above the middle of the dashboard.
