Hi, In late September we are thinking of camping on the Murray somewhere but have no idea whereabouts as we have never been there before. Does anyone have any suggestions for where we can
camp right beside the water, somewhere that will be quiet as
well? We have all our own amenities so are hoping for a lovely bush setting. Thanks.

Not sure where you're coming from as it's a long way from 1 end to the other but I was at Mulwala
State forest over the weekend on the NSW side & it was nice & quiet.
More sites on the Yarrawonga side too but a bit more populated.
I was told you can't have fires on the NSW side but from what I have seen you would be hard pushed to find much timber on the ground in the vicinity anyway. Took my 2wd car in there no problems but a few of the side tracks were a no go due to bog holes. Have to take care if you got heavy rain or maybe stay put & let things dry out a bit.
Cheers
Stu

I was at Murray-
Kulkyne (near Hattah-
Kulkyne NP) a couple of months ago & it was lovely.

Great little spot right beside the
Murray River and handy to the pub at the
Jingellic Reserve.
When we stayed there in 2010 it was free and I think a couple of dollars for a shower at the pub. We only stayed one night on our way
home from a "Follow the Murray" drive from
Mildura up stream. Ending when we ran out of time.

Hi Snoopy, for a few dollars you can have a beaut camping spot at an Outback Beds members place. They are mostly on the
Darling River though. You'll be safe, allowed to have a fire, bring your dog have advice as to what to do in the area, some
places provide canoes and also self drive tours of the properties. Cheers Toni
