Hi Bushy,

There is an application called NaviExtras that is included on a CD that came with your product. This app is installed on a PC or Laptop and is used to connect to and manage data transfer with the update server for the iGo Street Navigation app on the Hema. This is the only way to access updates for iGo.
After installation, you connect your Navigator to the PC and register it with the NaviExtras web site.

How often are updates available? Don't know, I don't use iGo Street Navigation, preferring a separate TomTom device.

As for the Hema Maps used by OziExplorer for 4WD Moving Map navigation, you should have the latest Hema maps available. You can add other maps, such as the Napmap 2008 range (came with earlier versions of the Hema) and these are the maps I prefer as I have used them for ages, only loading a Hema map if I require more detail for a specific region, such as the Kimberley, or one of the Great Desert Maps. These also came included with the Navigator. The Hema maps however are very good.

To add maps to be accessible by OziExplorer, you copy the maps into the OziExplorer/Maps directory on the Hema, using Windows Explorer. These Maps must be in a format recognised by Ozi. More info on conversion utilies can be found on the OziExplorer web site if you wish to pursue this further.

Hope this has been of some help to you.
Bill

Hi Bushy
This is what I did the other day with my recently purchased HN6

Go to naviextras.com and register
Chose username, set password, entered name and email address etc

Downloaded to the laptop - Navextras Toolbox, ran installation and followed prompts

On the HN6 clicked on settings icon, and set the USB to 'mass storage'.
Had to do this bit 4 times before I remembered to click on the 'save' button!

again...follow prompts

One of these steps took FOREVER ... I think it was waiting for toolbox to discover the HN6
Be patient, make a cup of tea (or sip a glass of moscato rose) before giving up :)

The program will ask you to backup onto your computer before it will update the navigator.
By default mine went to ... user\appdata\roaming\navextra\backup

The update available for mine was 2013 Qtr 1 and some 'fixes'

I have a vague memory of the windows mobile device centre box popping up when I connected the HN6 to the computer, but I ignored it.

Hope this helps others slightly :)

Thanks, it looks like I may have been a bit impatient and missed a step.
Thank you.
