Same model as my Troopy – I got 11.8L /100K when I was running it in.
That’s being easy on the pedal on the highway around 100ks Hr and skinny tyres.

Gentle driving when running in (don't achieve it now)
The hard skinny tyres helped – when I went up to fatter 285 wide tyres fuel consumption increased 5% or more.

I didn’t do a comparison at no load.
The
test was towing a 3 tonne van on bitumen 90ks an hour - The skinnies (50 PSI rear tyres) fuel consumption
test showed 18.5k/100L - The fatter tyres (40 PSI rear tyres) consumed 20k/L Obviously these figures were taken over 2 different stretches of road but should be pretty close.

I stuffed that up - should read 18.5 L/100k and 20L/100K.
Someone was talking to me while I was replying.

Ian
I learnt a long time ago that no matter what fuel consumption you get there will always be someone who get a little better than you. What's more important is what you get when packed with gear and on the tracks.
The van and load will make a difference. I also found that I can better the cruise control usage with simple old human intervention.
Maybe when you get used to the car that consumption may come down.
Enjoy the new toy regardless.

Yep
Sounds about on the money. Mind you, expect 22 if punching it along and towing any weight. On a recent extended trip the best I could manage on the open road towing the Conqueror was 15.5 sitting on about 95. Pushed it up to 110 and 22 l/100. Makes for expensive travelling if you have a heavy right foot.

Thanks Rosco, I try and stay away from towing, we sleep in the back. But I take your point, the Triton was particularly bad with a head wind.

my 200 burnt 88 for 480km towing 3.6 tonnes (slightly overweight) at 105-110. Mostly flat roads and no headwind.
Works out about 18.6L/100km

Hi Ian & Nola,
I have the wagon version & get 12.5 - 13 consistently
home or trips. I don't tow It's nice to know that the consumption stays fairly consistent. My daily work drive is 100kms with about half no traffic& half usual
Sydney city rubbish traffic.

Sounds good Landy, I'm suprised, I was hoping for better the 18/100k Yep I'm not sure if I'm going to use the canopy off the Triton or get a new one. Slept in it for 8 days while doing the Connie Sue a few weeks back so I know its fit for purpose
I have to sort the tray out first, rusty, not sure if I should get it blaste and painted or get an alloy tray

Hi Ian
A mixture of freeway and country road driving over the weekend, totalling 850 klms.
Only have the tray on the back, and with three adults and one whiiper sniper I average 12.2/100 klm.
Cheers

13.5 lph empty gee that's thirsty my old GQ twin cab gets 12 lph empty and it weighs 2.4 ton. Also would have expected the cruiser to be better on fuel with all of the electronics it has it should be closer to 10 lph and not thirstier than the old 6 it replaced.

Mine does the following (Has the 3" Manta exhaust and a 'chip)
Non towing but mass is around 3700kg...best 14.24 worst 16.1
With heavy off road caravan, mass around 6800 {:) just legal} best 20.69 worst 23.79
Same as above (and heavier) but with tinny on the roof and boat trailer & o/b motor on back of 'van
Best 21.42 Worst 24.87
I keep all my records on a smart phone app and it has been an interesting batch of records to look at

try hard not to use the foot...everything I have added has been in an effort to improve fuel economy
Smart app is MY Cars.....I have tried them all...this one gave me the best options of multiple car/vehicle combinations, running costs of bills,
services etc, excellent summary's etc and most importantly back up to Drop box or Google Drive to auto sync.......
