What business can you recommend to others as going above and beyond?
DBNO5 of Tas was just spruiking the burgers in Camooweal ( they sound amazing) and also the decency of the owner, giving coffee and free meals to those who need it.
I'm sure there's a few people who now have him on their list of places to support.
What else can you add?
While we pass through towns on our travels and find Australia's quiet, decent folk, let's make sure that others know of their decency. Spread the word of their good deeds so others can repay the favour in some way...
Warm fuzzies all round!
:)

Hi Skulldug. Thanks for the info. We may be down that way shortly and get the chance to try out their hospitality.

Robyn R4,
I was bitten by a spider in Coolum Beach, on the way home from Cairns. (on the bum!!) The following hospitals gave me terrific treatment/service at their emergency departments on the way home to Adelaide. I ended up with a severe staph infection.
QE2 Brisbane (7 visits in 10 days, little waiting). Tenterfield, Gunnedah, Gilgandra, Griffith and Barham. (no waiting more than 10 min anywhere)
Restored my faith in medicos.
Cheers, Bob

Oh yeh, like that's the sort of hospitality we all strive to sample...?!

You poor thing! What did you do...get a needle in the butt every few hundred km?!
Nothing like country hospitals!! Barham was once my "local". Hubby gets welding flash at 2am (had been working in a confined space where the protective helmet wouldn't fit). Calls the hospital and they call the poor doctor...and viola, we're seeing the doctor 40 minutes after that initial call. Try getting that service in the city, eh?

I had 18 jabs of pain killer and 3 IV's at QE2, plus 2 lots of surgery to "drain" the wound. The other 5 hospitals repacked the incision and changed the dressing. All Ok now. My doc back here said they did a sensational job.

On the way from the Ironman 70.3 at Port Macquarie, we called at the coffee shop opposite Timbertown in Wauchope (Curly's) and can heartily recommend it - great coffee, pleasant service and some really nice food as well! What more can you ask for?
