When using EOTopo online with IE it constantly freezes. It won't work properly with fullscreen, however when I use Firefox there are no issues at all.
I've come across a number of sites that seem to have issues with IE so it's not EOToppo that gives the problems but IE.

Wicket,
What version of IE are you using and what Windows version are you on?

Strange the only browser that seems to exhibt this problem is IE10 on Windows 7, in Windows 8 it works fine.

Anyway I have found a solution and installed it so give it a try now, it should be fine.

Brilliant working perfectly now ........BUT.....

There seems to be something odd about the way the map details are viewed.
For example there is a road running north from Wentworth NSW to Menindee and along this road there is only one other town, Pooncarie, it is small but has a pub, store, PO etc.
Now when I look at that road/map Pooncarie is nowhere to be seen until I zoom into 3km. There are plenty of other insignificant features that show on the map well before 3km zoom and I would have thought that the main town on that route should be there when both Wentworth and Menindee are visible on the map .

Glad the IE10 issue is sorted the features displayed at various levels is based on some complex formulas and I would need to have a look at the feature attributes to determine why it may be missing until a closer zoom level. For the last 3 months I have been working on the feature output specifications for the 200K product so need to look at the online outputs a little more.

Below is a screen snip of the actual location from the EOTopo 200K product:

Don't stress about it David , just a minor issue that I thought might be worth noting. Glad to see the same issue doesn't exist in the EOtoppo 200K product.
Looks like I'll be putting in an order soon to relace my old 2005 Natmap

cheers

No stress at all I am so wound up in the darn mapping output that I can see things quickly. The reason is the UHF repeater in Pooncarie is overriding the name label. Pooncarie is also not a major feature name so it is a little down the pecking order but I will now know where in the country to look for this positional issue.

The old 2005 NATMAP believe it or not had some better road features than the 2008 version. For some reason a number of roads and features were filtered out of the 2008 version when it was produced so in many respects the 2005 was better than the 2008. Our EOTopo is better again but still needs some work to get the roads updated but we will be actively working on this with the audience to build the best Topo we can. Please do let me know if you find any other strange issues and I will gladly look at them as it may help me find something I have missed in the builds.

Just a wee update for you, I was trying to locate Pooncarie on the online map when you posted and realised a Search option in the EOTopo Online was needed and so now there is one so finding Pooncarie is easier than it was before.

PS: I did know where it is but zooming in directly was not simple to the exact location and so the search makes it easier.
