OK Folks,

I am considering organising a National Gathering next year once again.

I have a few destinations in mind in both QLD and NSW, I am considering holding it during the September 2014 School holidays, I think NSW, QLD and Vic have all the same holiday dates next year. SA have theirs starting in the 2nd week of those holidays.

I would like to know if people agree with those dates, I know it won't meet everyone's plans but I have to start somewhere.

Also is there anyone else who would like to assist in the organising of the event as it can be a very time consuming process :)

Cheers Kev

G`donya Kev,
I will offer my limited ability to assist at the Gathering but probably not in the way of organizing prior to.
Keep us up to date with proceedings, there may be something someone may be able to assist with.

Scrubby.

Scrubby,

One option I am looking into is Trilby Station on the Darling River Run so it should be accessible for everyone, there is a heap of on Station activities as well as a heap of surrounding attractions to do day trips to.

Will keep you posted.

Cheers Kev

Hi Kev

I think Trilby would be an excellent choice if having it in NSW with plenty see in the region as mentioned.
I’d be happy to provide assistance wherever I might be able to help…

We stopped there for 2 nights on return from the Silverton Gathering and the kids loved it :)

We’ve been out there a couple of times recently, and also did a trip up into Tourale NP with an guide from Bourke. Great area…

Not sure how I can help, but throw some things at me and I’ll give it a shot…

Cheers, Baz...

Liz used to be a Business Member after I met her at the Outback NSW Tourism Symposium in Wentworth a few years ago. She was very interested in EO so I'm sure she'd be very keen to have a gathering there.

Hey Kev,
Been very busy last couple of days, and have just seen your thread, have spoken to Pud re a late return home next year, so if we are still breathing, we will be there.
Spent four or five days at Trilby this year and would be happy to return, or any of the other places you have mentioned.
Cheers to you Sam and the kids.

Trilby seems to be popular so I will contact Liz to find out her thoughts. I am thinking of these dates - Sunday 28 Sept 2014 - Friday 3 Oct 2014.

That should allow most people to get there and still be involved :)

Will keep you all posted :)

Batsy,

Sounds good, I am getting a very busy Calendar as well but I thought that seeing as there wasn't one this year then I should put the hand up to run next years again :)

My QLD Options are in the Winton/Longreach area or Boulia and surrounds.

Still in it's infancy stage but more than happy to meet up. 2 hours which way LOL Toowoomba, Roma, Kingaroy or Goondiwindi

Cheers Kev

Hi Kev. We are interested in attending and I am keen to lend a hand with arrangements if there is anything useful that I can do. Meetings are a bit of a problem for the next few weeks. As of Monday last Ruth has a brand new right knee and I am number 1 carer until she is fully mobile again. As an accountant there may be some administrative stuff that I can do. Good on you for having another go. We might have to move you up to Lord Kev after this effort!
Cheers,
Kevin

Kevin,

I hope Ruth is recovering well.

I will be in touch if I need some stuff done, I have a few indicate already that they will assist so it is good to see that people are keen to see a Gathering of this size being supported.

Cheers Kev

Thanks Kev, she is doing fine. In rehab this week and home on Friday.

Just let me know if I can do anything for the Gathering. Regarding your comment about a Darling River Run group I haven't planned in that much detail yet but I will keep it in mind.

Do you have any plans for unfinished business at Mt. Moffatt?

Cheers,

Kevin

Kevin,

The kids still want to go to Mt Moffatt, so depending on Sam's health check ups before Easter we may head there for Easter.

HM Birthday holiday is in June again, isn't it? Yep. That could work. We plan to go to The Cape this year and reasonably early. Via Mt Moffatt would work as we intended to go north via Emerald and Charters Towers.
