I am about to embark on my first trip in a recently purchased 2007 Cub Supamatic Regal off-road camper. I have replaced the gas cylinder with a new bottle and made all the connections, turned on rap but don't seem to be getting gas through to the stove. Anyone in
Canberra with a Cub who would be willing to give me 15 minutes to have a look? It would be much appreciated.
Cheers

Terry.
Check under the stove for a separate shut off valve (usually in one of the cupboards)
The gas from the new gas bottle might take a while to reach the stove, so hold the stove button on with a lighter on the ring for maybe 30 sec. Hope that helps.

Terry,
The first thing I would have checked is the regulator. They can reduce gas flow to nothing if "bad gas" was present at some stage, especially if the regulator is mounted lower than the gas bottle outlet.
With care, you could diagnose the area causing the problem.
First, confirm there is gas flowing out of the bottle. (A little sniff is all that is required, although on the high pressure side of the regulator you should certainly hear it)
Turn off the control valve and disconnect the line at the inlet to the regulator and confirm you are getting gas to this point.
Reconnect and disconnect the line at the outlet of the (dual?) regulator to confirm if gas is flowing at this point, turning off the control valve each time. This will confirm/eliminate problems in the supply line into and out of the regulator and the regulator itself.
If gas flow is confirmed out of the regulator, perform the same disconnect routine at the stove inlet, having someone else turning on and off the control valve while you are inside the van.
Oh, and I assume you know how to turn on the stove?
Usually, you press the control knob in and turn to the ignition point, igniting the burner while
the knob is held in. After a few seconds release
the knob and the burners should remain lit until the control knob is turned to off, or the gas bottle valve is closed.

Yep, I forgot about holding down the burner knob when I first got
mine. Quite frustrating. A simple error. I am sure I am not the only one to make it.

HI
H
Having done ALL the above turn on the gas at the bottle & USING SOAPY
WATER ,
CHECK ALL CONNECTIONS FOR LEAKS!!
I am sure you do not want a fire or explosion.
BY law all fixed connections should only be made by a licensed GAS FITTER!!!

Terry just follow the gas line and check for gas flow at each connection, once you have exhausted all other possibilities.
Have someone stand by the gas bottle shut off valve and start at the bottle checking each connection as you go toward the stove to ensure you have some pressure at each point.
As said previously, ensure you have the correct lighting procedure for your stove.
If the vehicle has been standing for some time without a gas bottle connected it could have a wasp nest in the line to the bottle.
It will be a process of elimination I'm afraid if you cannot find something simple.
Cheers, Bruce.

Some of the cubs have a second tap in the front where the gas bayonet is located, Dont worry have missed that a couple of times and wondered why no gas.

Morning.
Do all your basic checks as mentioned previously, if to no avail, do not attempt to do anything further. Find a authorized gas fitter to do any other work, i would recommend a gas fitter running his professional eye over the whole set up anyway as the installation is 6 years old, it's cheap insurance. I was once camped at a lovely seaside c/
park, when we were awoken with an enormous bang, forty metres away was a caravan with no sides and no roof. The owner the previous day had been fiddling with the gas connections,
the pilot light of the 3 way fridge had ignited an accumulative pocket of gas inside the van, and
well lucky for them they had gone for an early morning walk. Quiet shocked would be an understatement to describe what they saw when they returned.

G'day Terry
On my cub, I have a gas gauge/safety thingy.. Can't think what it's called. But to get the gas flowing, every time the bottle is turned on, have to press the little plunger thing down on top.. If you have this thing fitted on yours try press it down. The little gauge won't even register how full the bottle is till it has been pressed. Cheers Odog

HI
If you have to reset the "GAS FUSE " after only having the Bottle turned off for a short time [hours ] you have either left something turned ON or you have a GAS LEAK somewhere!!

Cleaned the shed. I have been going to do that for ages. I open the door, take a look inside, close the door and vow to do it later when I have more time!
