Deflappers

I know that this subject has probably been done to death. But no one has mentioned the ones we have. We bought ours from a fellow in a caravan park in Perth back in 2011. We want to buy more, but cannot find them anywhere. I have searched the internet and still not found them.
They are not straps, they are like a small double jockey strap with a plastic ball on one end which wraps around the awning arm and the part that attaches to the awning vinyl is a metal clip with rubber stoppers and a closing mechanism. We have used the strap type previously but since having these ones we have never looked back, they are so much better.
Does anyone know of these and perhaps know who has them or the person that made them. I have not seen anyone with these on our travels at all.
Hope someone out there knows.

Hi. Does it look anything like this? I bought mine from the Sydney show last year. They came with an elastic strap with a hook on it that hooks into the Klip. They have worked really well so far. Cheers, Bob.

There is a range of them in this link. If the ones you have were manufactured by the seller you probably will have to go back to him.

That's the trouble I don't know who he is, he was staying in the park at the time we were there. And unless we run into him again or find someone else how has them and they know, I don't think I will ever find out. They don't seem to be sold on the open market.

I know this won't answer your question, but the local caravan repairer reckons a rope right over the top of the awning & tied to the stays takes the tearing pressure off the vinyl edges of the awning.

Just buy an AUSSIE TRAVELLER deflapper kit, you will never muck around with any of those strap ones again.
