Review: Carcoar Station

My Place Rating: My Rating 4/5

We stayed here overnight in our RV March 2014. The "carpark" in front of the station is a level gravel area with a great view over the town, well away from houses, and little used because the rail line is disused. There is a source of tap water on the station building. There is no signage prohibiting overnight stays and the town is so quiet you probably wouldn't be disturbed. The park in the town has picnic tables etc. and there are toilets there also. You can get a walking tour pamphlet from the lovely lady in the single old-fashioned general store. There are many historic buildings. The only downside is noise from the highway on the other side of the valley, and some barking dogs. The view at sunset is spectacular and the town looks like a village in England with a lovely stream running through it.
