Harry's Hut - This leg of the trek is open and accessible from Cooloola Way (at the time of writing the track could be accessed with a high clearance 2WD vehicle). We just spent five days over the last weekend camping there. The
camp-site has 10 vehicle / tent areas that can be booked online (Vehicle
camp-sites no. 3 & 4 are close together with a common clear area in-between, ideal for larger groups exceeding the six person limit at each site. Vehicle site no. 7 is larger than most and includes a picnic table as
well.), additionally there are many tent only sites as
well. These were mostly used by campers who had canoed / kayak'd up the river. An excellent spot to get away for a long weekend or several days. Facilities include two
toilet blocks, one at each end of the
camping area. We hired a couple of canoes from a nearby rental company, which were delivered to the
Harry's hut camping area. Day trips paddling up and down the river is a magnificent way to unwind and take in the environment.
