Hmmmm, a lot can happen in 12 months, as it stands if it was me, i'd go Newcastle, Gunnedah, Narrabri, Moree, St George, Roma, Morven, Tambo, Barcaldine, Longreach, Cloncurry, Mt Isa, Tennant Creek, and up to Darwin.
That would be a distance of approx. 2500 ks, time factor would depend on how fast you drive, and how many ks you want to do a day, if it was us time factor would be 6 or 7 days.
Have a good trip , and i hope this helps.
Cheers.

Colin

I've done that trip 3 times in a 1995 75 series troopy towing a boat one trip and on the other trips a horse float furniture trailer from Scone.

The best I've done is 2.5 days, but I would never do that again. Even a full 3 days is really hard work.

I think you would need at least 6 or 7 days each way.

I agree with baz's route. Don't think about doing the Pacific Highway...there are so many fixed cameras from the Qld border to Newcastle and it'll drive you nuts! Coming in from the west is much better.

Thank you every one seems like 6-7 days inland route is way to go.
