Hi all,
I seem to recall a discussion on the
forum regarding excessive noise from certain brands of
snorkel for this model Pajero and engine (2010 NT 3.2 TD, auto).
Try as I might, I have done a
forum search, and can't find the discussion.
Could any of you out there with the same model car, but with a
snorkel, give me your opinion re noise etc of the brand you have please?
Thanks, Dave

my experience is not with Pajero's, its landcruiser. The standard Toyota
snorkel intake was incredibly noisy, I replaced it with a Safari
snorkel, and its much quieter. And much more power.
Landcruisers are starving for air in the v8 models, and the intake screams. More volume shuts them up a bit
Other whining noises are turbo related mostly, and sound vastly different. If its a harsh sucking, I reckon its starving for air? My Toyota could only rev to 3500 rpm, after the mod, it revs freely.
Good luck.
Jim

Thanks Jim, but this is a model specific issue. I did go on to the Pajero
forum as suggested above, and the Airtec brand, supplied by TJM seems to be the way to go. Dave

Thanks, Kevin
That might have been the discussion I was looking for. Either way, it sheds light on the problem. I reckon I'll go Airtec when I am ready to get it done.
Thanks, Dave
