Not sure if it happens at your place, but we are being bombarded with Hiclone ads
on Channel 10 Games coverage. You know the drill..up to 23% more power & 15%
less fuel etc etc. Must be costing a bomb so folks must buy the things I guess.
Not wishing to open old wounds on this subject, but if they worked, would not every
car maker fit them at the factory ??. Dead cheap for those claimed figures.
If you fit two is it twice as good ?...:)))).....oldbaz.

Snake oil.

I can sell you some pills to drop into your fuel tank that will do that.

Should we also mention electronic rust prevention ;=))

Mate, the ads are probably targeted according to browser cookies on your computer so are different for every user. I have to admit, I haven't seen one scungy fungus toenail popup. These types of targeted ads are common and starting to get up my nose. Has anyone seen an ad for a good nasal decongestant?

Mike,
You just need to do a couple of searches for said items, and the ads will follow!

Yes, John, it's as you say. And how stupid is their logic?!
After you've done your searches you've probably satisfied your need. So then they bombard you with stuff that is yesterday's news and no longer relevant.Well, that's how it works for me.
As advertisers, they are failures.
Annoying idiots.

The makers of Hiclone must have had 40,000,000 of the things made and they have to get their money back somehow.
They may have fitted them Free to the TV company cars so the ads are affordable. Tax claims with ads.

PS can the smaller ones be inserted into the windpipe of sellers to see positive results?
LUNG capacity should improve.

Maybe they also work in exhausts too!!!! Similar fitment to seller should be a good test. They are stainless steel so should last no matter what passes through them.

The origin appears to have been lost in the mists of time but the old saying holds just as true today.

"There's one born every minute"

As an addendum you could also add

"There's one born every minute to relieve them of their hard earned cash"

Also covered by "A fool and his money etc".

And still people send money to Nigeria or some Easter European country because they have just discover one of your long lost uncles has died and left you $xxxxxxxxxxx.
Just send $zzzz to cover expenses and it's all yours.

One born every minute yes....

How about, "Don't knock it till you try it?"

P.S. no affiliation with this product whatsoever, just positive results..

Care to explain the principle behind this wonderous creation?
To clarify, I mean how it benefits the internal combustion engine not the purveyor's bank balance.
I removed a similar "swirl inducer" from the intake of my NA diesel. No difference in fuel consumption or performance, but slightly less black smoke during hard acceleration. The swirl supposedly causes the heavier particles of dust to be thrown by centrifical action to the outside of the air stream. Nothing to do with increased efficiency.
Now take the action when applied to a turbocharged engine.
You reckon the Hi Clone will induce any more swirl than a turbocharger compressor wheel spinning at in excess of 20,000 RPM? How about the torturous passage the air must navigate through the intake system of even a non turbo engine?
Personally I doubt it.

I believed the 15% less fuel usage. So being smart I put 7 of them in my troopy. For 2 years I have not had to top up the fuel tank. The extra power also comes in handy on weekends when I use the old car for towing Boeing747,s onto the tarmac at Sydney airport. Incredible after market product the old HICLONE.......Pity a billion dollar company like Toyota couldn,t have thought of it....

Do you have any problems with the fuel tank overflowing at times when you aren't using all the power?

Your a smart man Ross M....The excess fuel (about 40 litres a week), I give to my next door neighbour. In exchange he allows me to run a lead; from his electronic rust preventer, to my car several times a week. All rust has disappeared and car looks great...

Hi mate. Have been told by many they are about as good as a cut up tin of beer in your intake, however have fitted in two vehicles now and have noticed improvements. First was 98 3.2l petrol rodeo, drank fuel like it was going out of fashion, about 330km per 65l tank. After fitting 2 hiclones, stretched it out to 370km, the best result was 400km.
Have since fitted to a 2.5l diesel Navara, no noticeable fuel gains, however turbo has spooled up slightly faster, previously kicking in at 2400rpm and now just under 2100rpm. The hiclones are fitted between air filter and turbo, and between intercooler and inlet manifold. Definatley a must try, and with something so simple, that has the possibility to move mountains, with a money back guarantee, I still believe it's a no brainer...

If I use my Donaldson air cleaner which also swirls the air flow, I use more fuel and seem to have less power.
GU RULES!!

Those vehicles must have been running too lean, because putting anything in the intake system effectively chokes the airflow by the profile of the object.

The hiclones probably restored the correct air flow by choking it down :D
