We met Mr Suzuki in the
Boulia CV park yesterday where he is having some rest days. He has walked from
Brisbane and is planning to be in
Birdsville for the races and will continue to
PERTH! His handcart is mainly loaded with water. The walk is purely for his own enjoyment/challenge.
Mr Suzuki Goes to the Races
This photo was taken as we left this morning for Mt Isa. We had some bad luck coming out of Diamantina NP when we lost a tyre from our trailer and 'scallopped' the wheel. Nothing available in
Boulia so here we are. The Plenty Hwy will have to wait for another time. But I wouldn't have missed the Diamantina for quids!

Lucky you got out off the blacksoil at all? Get much rain in there over the last week?

There has been no rain in Diamantina NP. Not much west of
Windorah. The road in through Monkira was good, just needed to slow down on the black soil as the base was hard but powdery on the surface. The road out to
Boulia was not so good.

Thanks for the follow up, the reports we got down here sounded a bit more widespread. We nearly got caught at diamontina gates in 2006 in winter rain. We packed up and bolted to
Winton. Those that stayed out the showers that night stayed for an extra week by all reports. Fun fun fun.
