Hi folks,

I have just called the Prairie Hotel to try to get access through Nilpena Station to Lake Torrens only to be told that this access has been closed for the past 4 years. Anyone know anything? I see on SA Parks that you can access the Lake from Andamooka Station, but that is on the West side and we will be based in the Flinders, so no good.

Yes been closed for ages, if you speak to Betana Station they might be able to get you to the lake.

We stayed at Beltana for a few days last year. One of the trips we did was to the Lake Torrens shore on a private track through the Beltana property. Was a very worthwhile trip - Beltana was a great place to stay and we all enjoyed their saltbush mutton roast one night in the shearing shed.

Cheers

John

Beltana is your best bet.Andamooka also appears closed with some pretty heavy trespass signage on the gates on the access track (passed there last week) and as per my post earlier this week, access through Mulgaria at the top of Lake Torrens (from Farina) has been closed.

Cheers Mick
