Road Trip ideas - Easter 2015 (April)

Hi all,

I'm in the early stages of planning a road trip from Melb during the school holiday's/Easter Break in 2015.

Thinking of heading to Byron Bay for a few days for the Bluesfestival, then heading further north to spend 4-5 days on Fraser Island.

Just wanting to know if anyone is aware of any other festivals or activities that would coincide with the Bluesfestival in April 2015 that would break up the road trip.

Have a very capable 4wd. Kids are in their early teens.

Hoping to achieve all this over 20 days.

Hi Phil,

Check out when the Narooma (South coast NSW) Blues Festival is on, I'm sure it is just before Byron. (but not confident).

If you google " festival April 2015 " you'll find a few events happening around that time, just depends what you are interested in and where you'd be prepared to go to see it.
Seeing your heading to Byron.... I'd look at spending some time exploring around Dorrigo, The Waterfall Way and the Old Grafton - Glen Innes road are well worth a look around. Fraser will be very busy over Easter, been there once during that time period and won't do it again myself.
