Hi all, so another question in relation to our
Cameron Corner trip. Looking at driving
Tibooburra to
Innamincka and staying the night and then back to
Cameron Corner.
Can anyone advise how long it would take to drive from
Tibooburra (or thereabouts, probably staying somewhere in the National Park) to
Innamincka and which route that is taking. I have been told the
Bore Track is currently closed.

Around 4 or 5 hours. We did
Innamincka to
Broken Hill babying broken front
suspension and towing a ct in around 7 hours I think 4 weeks ago in dry weather on good dry roads but it has since rained and ive heard the roads got a little messy in spots.

Guessing that was via Strezelecki? So towing a camper trailer, no issues? May have a mate towing one

Sorry, that was the quickest way possible which was directly east to the border then directly south to
Tibooburra. Cant remember the road names sorry. We had originally planned to take the strezleki track south then east to Camerons Corner then to
Tibooburra but then we broke bits between
Birdsville and
Innamincka via the
walkers crossing track ( which is pretty rough especially with 2 broken cars towing trailers lol) good luck.

The entitre area around
Innamincka was pretty corrugated but drivable if you lower your pressures and pick the right speed etc. Id have no drama towing a trailer again. Although we didnt get to see the strezleki I imagine it should be ok. The
birdsville track northern end which we did a portion of was like a highway. Hope that helps a little.

Just make sure its a solid off road trailer. A normal trailer just wont last. We saw 3 trailers left on the side of the road on roads worse than the ones we drove on in that area. Not wirth the risk of its not setup right. If its setup with solid
suspension and not overloaded and the right type tyres you should have a happy holiday. Take extra spare tyres and repair kit as with all outback travel. Many people dont and get into strife.

When in a caravan tag a long we took about 5 hrs to an overnight stop, including half hour or so at
Cameron Corner. The next day we took 5 hrs to
Innamincka via The Old
Strzelecki Track. These times included a number of tea and sight seeing stops.

The shortest, and possibly quickest is via Toona
Gate, and northern end of the
Bore Track which you can travel on.
Quite a scenic route also.
Enjoy,

thanks for that, didn't even think of that way. Looked up the map and seems like a plan, may go up via Strzelecki (as others with us haven't been on that track before) and back via Epsilon, Omicron ..

around 3 weeks ago returned from
Birdsville via
Walkers Crossing which was pretty rough but came through ok with car and caravan.
Innamincka to Tib was much easier via Orientos. May have changed a bit if they've had rain. Soon dries out though and should be ok again. We opted for Walker's to avoid the big exodus from the
Birdsville races, which I believe was one huge dust cloud to drive through. We had a great run, although pretty rough as most others took the "smoother" option.

Couple of months ago left
Tibooburra about 8:30am, had coffee and scones at
Cameron Corner, lunch north of Merty Merty on the Old Strzelecki, followed that right through to
Innamincka, got there about 3:30ish. Towing a TVan. It was a good drive then.
cheers
Kevin

Thanks, sounds good. Just wasn't 100% sure on time, ie track condition, but that helps. Mates may be towing a c/trailer so good to hear that vans are getting through without issues. Their trailer is an offroad trailer and they are experienced, so sounds like it all should be ok.

The road between
Cameron Corner and Merty Merty had a few bulldust holes on the tops of some of the crests when I went through in August. Some were marked with red flags, some with branches. Just be aware of them you will be OK.
