We have a merit socket in our caravan and I would like a dual USB adaptor or similar to fit. Does anyone know where I can purchase a fitting?

Sheryl,
The easiest way would be to purchase a lead with a merit plug on one end and a cigarette socket on the other. Then you can plug in a standard cigarette plug to dual USB socket adapter which are readily available from any auto store JB Hi-Fi or Jaycar outlet.
Even harder is to attempt to buy a Merit plug to dual Merit socket patch lead, to connect two lights or similar. They are simply not made for some obscure reason.
You can buy a Merit plug to one Merit socket and one cigarette socket, or one Merit plug to two cigarette sockets, but not a dual Merit socket lead.
I made a couple myself as I often run dual 12v LED lights in the awning area and I have standardised on Merit sockets and plugs on all my 12v equipment.
God only knows why manufacturers such as Narva, persist with cigarette style sockets and plugs. They are the most useless connectors around when even a slight tug or vibration will cause them to disconnect.

That's the way I've done it - a merit plug to twin cigarette socket then a small cigarette usb twin plug that fits inside the cigarette socket without any protrusion - works
well for me.
cheers

Sheryl,
I wanted something permanent for our slide-on camper, for charging iPads etc, so in a burst of enthusiasm, fitted these 2 Narva sockets. One is a merit, the other a dual USB.
Only downside I've found is the USB has a quite
bright blue light, which is a bit glarey for comfortable slumber. That's if you're charging a device overnight. Otherwise a flexible cover keeps the "blue Rays of insomnia" at bay. :-)
